The contract agreement between the City of Yakima and Genesis Housing Services (GHS) will reimburse GHS for $437,160 through the Connecting Housing to Infrastructure Program (CHIP). Funds will financially assist Genesis Housing Services, by covering sewer, water, stormwater improvements and system development charges for a new affordable housing project. The project will develop 32 affordable housing units that will target households earning 80% of the Area Median Income or less. Housing units will be made available as permanent affordable farmworker housing in partnership with the Office of Rural & Farmworker Housing. |
