SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

The State of Washington Department of Ecology (DOE) has awarded the City of Yakima (City) a Toxics Cleanup Remedial Action Grant Program Agreement (No. TCPRA-2123-YakiCM-00008) to pay for costs associated with the environmental remediation of the former Yakima City Landfill. The Department of Ecology is providing a total cost of $4,000,000 with Ecology's share at $3,000,000 and the City's share at $1,000,000 under the terms and conditions of the grant agreement.

The funds will be used to continue the cleanup efforts as part of existing and future projects as authorized in the Interim Action Work Plan (IAWP) of the Agreed Order for the purpose of future street and utility construction.
