| SUMMARY EXPLANATION: | | At the Council’s March 8, 2022 study session, the Council moved forward the map entitled Option 2 to be the draft redistricting plan of the City of Yakima. RCW 29A.76.010 requires that the draft plan be published and a public meeting be held where the public may comment within ten days of publication. Approval of this item will set the date for the public meeting to April 5, 2022, during the City Council meeting on that day. The public will be invited to comment and provide feedback on the draft plan at the meeting, or to send written comments to the City. Pursuant to the statute, the notice of the meeting, as well as the draft redistricting plan (which constitutes a map of Option 2, and the data from the census as well as the CVAP and LCVAP data), shall be published on or after March 28, 2022, so that the meeting is held within ten days of the date the notice is published. |
