This is the next step of our radio replacement plan outlined to Council in February 2021. This step includes replacing SunComm radio consoles, hardware, and updating software for the City's primary and backup dispatch locations. This planned step needs to happen as the hardware and software for these consoles are currently at the end of life and as such, will not be supported by the manufacturer. This purchase allows the City to replace existing consoles at both locations. The cost to replace these radio consoles is $419,482. This total reflects a $150,000 discount Motorola has offered if the contract is signed and returned by September 17th, 2021. |
