The City of Yakima (City) was selected to receive funding through the Department of Transportation National Highway System (NHS) Asset Management program in the amount of $2,315,440 with no local match required. This federal funding is to address roadways in need of repair.
The City has identified Summitview Avenue between 40th Ave. and 48th Ave. and between 56th Ave. and 72nd Ave. in the need of rehabilitation due to the degradation of the roadway after several years of usage. Improvements consist of milling the top surface and replacing with an overlay, paving fabric, new pavement markings, and placement of ADA compliant curb ramps. Making such improvements addresses City Council's Strategic Priority of Public Safety. |
