ITEM TITLE:Resolution authorizing a contract with Farmers Electric II, LLC. for Wastewater Pump Station Improvements

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

City of Yakima (City) Project 2527 replaces the four pump motor controllers, associated sensors, and remote telemetry equipment at the Rudkin Road pump station.  The pump station conveys approximately 2 million gallons per day of wastewater from Union Gap and areas of south Yakima to the Yakima Wastewater Treatment Plant. The replacement of the equipment, originally installed in 1990, is required to maintain reliable operation of the pump station.

 

The City previously entered into an agreement with RH2 Engineering, Inc. under City Contract 2020-031 to provide engineering design, bidding, and construction services for the lift station improvements.  The City utilized the procedure established by the State of Washington for competitively bidding projects.  Three contractors submitted bids, with Farmers Electric II, LLC. submitting the lowest bid of $407,914.  The contract is attached for City Council review. 

 

The project is funded by Wastewater Capital Fund 478.
