The City of Yakima and Yakima County have routinely entered into an Interlocal Agreement for the housing of City inmates charged with misdemeanor and gross misdemeanors. The proposed contract will allow the City of Yakima to continue housing misdemeanor offenders in the Yakima County Jail for a set monthly minimum rate of $147,520.83 based on a guarantee of 50 inmates per day. The daily rate for inmates in excess of the 50 will be $97.00. The term of the Interlocal Agreement is for a three- year period (2021-2023) with a CPI adjustment, not to exceed 2.5%, to be made each year after 2021. Medical costs are in addition to the daily rate. |
