ITEM TITLE:Open record public hearing to consider the Yakima Planning Commission's recommendation on a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA#001-20) and Rezone (RZ#002-20) request submitted by Les Heimgartner for property at 8014 Occidental Rd

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

Hordan Planning Services, on behalf of property owner Les Heimgartner, submitted a Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment (CPA), Rezone, and Environmental Review application for property at 8014 Occidental Rd. The applicant is requesting to change the Future Land Use Map designation from Low Density Residential to Mixed Residential and to concurrently rezone from Single-Family Residential (R-1) to Multifamily Residential (R-3). This request is for one parcel. After holding virtual study sessions on August 12th and September 9th, and a virtual public hearing on September 23rd, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the CPA and Rezone application, with the Findings being signed by the chair on October 7, 2020.

 

In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing.
