| SUMMARY EXPLANATION: | | The City of Yakima has an obligation for environmental cleanup and remediation at the former municipal landfill located at the Cascade Mill site. The Department of Ecology and the City of Yakima entered into an Agreed Order for clean up in 2018 and an Interim Action Work Plan in 2020 for authorization to do limited remediation for street construction before meeting the obligations for the remainder of the landfill. This grant will help support the costs of landfill remediation in the road corridor. |
