City Project 2489 provided for the cleaning, coating, and structural repair of the Wastewater Treatment Plant's one-million gallon biosolids digester. The City contracted with Selland Construction, Inc. for the improvements which included the removal and disposal of over 300,000 gallons of undigestible grit, the replacement of six sludge flow control valves, and re-coating of the entire digester roof. The project restored biosolids digestion capacity and reliability.
Final inspection for this project was made and staff recommends that the project be accepted. Project completion is subject to issuance of Certificate of Payment by the Department of Revenue and authorization from state agencies allowing final payment. A final payment of $54,490 (5% retainage) is due from the City to Selland Construction, Inc. for the completion of the work.
