Ordinance updating Classification and Compensation Plan for City Employees Section 2.20.100

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

This Master Pay Ordinance includes classification and compensation changes approved and recommended by the Charter Civil Service Commission, City Management, AFSCME, and the IAFF bargaining groups.

 

New Charter Temp classifications

 

5260 Aquatics Concessions/Cashier; Pay Code 914 ($13.50); Non-Exempt; Union None

 

8824 Parks Maintenance Laborer; Pay Code 914 ($13.50); Non-Exempt; Union None 

 

New Charter Permanent classification: 

 

6263 Investigative Support Specialist; Pay Code 14.0 ($20.11-$24.15); Non-Exempt, AFSCME

 

New Legal Temp Classification: 

 

9130 Legal Intern – 1L; New Pay Code 930 ($15.45, $16.16, $16.93, $17.65); Non-Exempt; Union None

 

Retitle 9131 “Rule 9 Legal Intern” to “Legal Intern – 2L”

 

Retitle 4420 “Fire Code Inspector” to “Community Risk Reduction Specialist”

 

Retitle 8820 “Park Caretaker” to “Parks Maintenance Caretaker”

 

Retitle Temp Classification 5201 “Golf Starter” to “Golf Course Assistant”, reallocated to Pay Code 914 ($13.50); Non-Exempt; Union None

 

Remove existing Class Code 8810 Park Laborer

 

18101 Communications Division Office Assistant changing from non-represented to being represented by IAFF PERS Collective Bargaining Agreement; Pay Code 580 ($20.91-$26.53) effective 8/1/20.

 

Update City Manager Pay Code from 960CM ($90.12) to Pay Code 960 in order to reflect the full pay range and steps ($82.22-$99.94)

 

Housekeeping items:

 

Updated reference to the IAFF Local 469 Collective Bargaining Agreement.   Deleted Section 2.22.030 and now referencing Article 30.

 

Correct Classification Code for Lead Mechanic from 12102SA to 12102.
