During the City Council budget study sessions conducted on October 3, 2019 and October 17, 2019, the Yakima City Council approved establishing fees for Fire System Records Management as well as approved an increase to the Fire and Life Safety Inspection Fee Schedule and requested staff bring an updated ordinance for Council consideration.
The Fire System Records Management fee would be charged to independent fire system service providers for each system inspection/maintenance report that is submitted to the fire department. The fees for Fire and Life Safety Inspections would continue to be administered per past practice. An increase of five dollars per inspection type is proposed to offset the cost incurred by the Fire Department for providing this service. |
