The Secretary of Defense is authorized by 10 USC § 2576a to transfer to Federal and State/Territory Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), personal property that is excess to the needs of the Department of Defense. The agreement is to enhance the efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat counter-drug/counter-terrorism.
The Governor of the State of Washington has designated in writing with an effective date of 6-19-17 to implement this program statewide as well as conduct management and oversight of this program. The agreement is entered into in order to promote the efficient and expeditious transfer of property and to ensure accountability of the same. |
