City Project No. SW2491 reconstructs 4,000 of the 15,000 linear feet of alley and alley approaches identified in the North Alley Paving project, a project listed in the 2019-2024 Six-Year TIP. In contrast to the North Alley Paving project, which was limited to dust abatement by the application of a liquid dust control treatment to the existing gravel alleys, Project SW2491 includes base preparation, asphalt paving, and the addition of concrete alley approaches. The nine alleys and associated approaches included in Project SW2491 are in the area bordered by Cherry and Garfield Avenues on the north and south, and by Lewis and Oregon Avenues on the west and east.
The City utilized the procedure established by the State of Washington for competitively bidding projects. Four contractors submitted bids, with Selland Construction, Inc. submitting the lowest bid of $398,650. See attached contract. The project is funded by Stormwater Capital Fund 442. |
