The City of Yakima Planning Division submitted Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment (CPA), Rezone, and Environmental Review applications for seven (7) parcels totaling 3.08 acres in the vicinity of N 16th Ave and Hathaway St. The City Planning Division is requesting to change the Future Land Use Map designation from Industrial to Commercial Mixed-Use and to concurrently rezone from Light Industrial (M-1) to General Commercial (GC). After holding a study session on June 26, 2019, and a public hearing on July 10, 2019, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the CPA and Rezone applications, with the Findings being signed by the chair on July 24, 2019.
In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing.
