ITEM TITLE:Open record public hearing to consider the Yakima Planning Commission's recommendation on a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA#001-19) and Rezone (RZ#002-19) request submitted by UPI Property II LLC

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

AHBL Inc., on behalf of UPI Property II LLC, submitted Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment (CPA), Rezone, and Environmental Review applications for four (4) parcels totaling 5.85 acres at 14 and 16 E Washington Ave and 2308 S 1st St. The property owner is requesting to change the Future Land Use Map designation from Commercial Mixed-Use to Industrial and to concurrently rezone from General Commercial (GC) to Light Industrial (M-1). After holding a study session on June 26, 2019, and a public hearing on July 10, 2019, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the CPA and Rezone applications, with the Findings being signed by the chair on July 24, 2019.

 

In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing. BOARD/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
The Yakima Planning Commission held a public hearing on July 10, 2019 and recommended approval of the requests. The chair signed the Commission's Findings on July 24, 2019.
