ITEM TITLE:

Ordinance updating Classification and Compensation Plan for City Employees Section 2.20.100

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

This Master Pay Ordinance includes the following classification and compensation changes approved and recommended by the Charter Civil Service Commission, Police and Fire Civil Service Commission, City Management, AFSCME, Teamsters and IAFF bargaining groups:

                                     

  • New Charter classification: Victim Advocacy Coordinator (10525) @ Pay Code 983SA ($21.83-$26.53), Teamsters, Exempt

  • Retitle Utility and Finance Assistant (10520) to Administrative Assistant to Finance

  • Reassign Police Chief to 963 ($65.75 - $79.91)

  • Pay range updates in accordance with International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO Local 469 2018-2021 bargaining agreement for Firefighters, AFL-CIO reflecting 2.5% plus catch up provision 1.25% effective 1/1/2018; 2.5% plus 1% catch-up effective 1/1/2019; 2.5% effective 1/1/2020; 2.5% effective 1/1/2021.  (Rates also reflect hour changes effective 2020 & 2021) 
  • Housekeeping item:  Correction of Fire Code Inspectors (4420) Pay Code 548 to appropriately reflect step rates
