While "Cruising the Ave" is prohibited in the City of Yakima, Council retains the ability to allow open cruising events from time to time for the benefit of the public by passing a Resolution as noted in YMC 9.25.020.  Local organizations have contacted the City about the 2019 cruise dates and staff has determined the best dates to be June 15, July 13, August 10, September 7, 14, and 21.  

Council members need to decide if they 1) want to allow cruise nights to take place in 2019, and 2) if the dates above are acceptable.  Yakima Police Department has not reported any incidents during open cruise nights since Council has been approving these scheduled dates the past four years.
