SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

On December 18, 2018, Ray Novobielski, et al, submitted for City Council's consideration a Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation Proceedings for property located on the northwest corner of S 96th Ave &Tieton Drive.

The proposed annexation area is approximately 9.3 acres in size, consisting of 7 tax parcels. Three of the parcels contain single-family homes and the remaining four parcels are undeveloped. The properties contain R-2, R-3, and B-2 zoning. The annexation petition was signed by 100% of the property owners.

State law governs the procedures for annexations (RCW 35.13.410). In Washington, annexations may be accomplished through a petition method which requires a two-part process that begins with a Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation. On February 5, 2019 City Council may decide to accept the request and proceed with annexation procedures; modify the boundaries of the request; or not accept the request for annexation.
