PLSA Engineering and Surveying, on behalf of Coastal Farm Real Estate Inc, submitted Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment (CPA), Rezone, and Environmental Review applications for four (4) parcels totaling 4.1 acres in the vicinity of South 1st Street and West Washington Avenue. The property owner is requesting to change the Future Land Use Map designation from Industrial to Commercial Mixed Use and to concurrently rezone from Light Industrial (M-1) to General Commercial (GC). After holding a study session on June 27, 2018, and a public hearing on August 8, 2018, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the Comp Plan Amendment and Rezone applications, with the Findings being signed by the chair on August 22, 2018.
In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing.
