ITEM TITLE:	Resolution authorizing the sole source purchase of lighting equipment from Platt Electric for the Yakima Police Department

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

Pacific Power has offered the Yakima Police Department a financial incentive of $28,716 to upgrade the lighting of the Richard Zais Law and Justice Center. In addition to the incentive, the City will recognize long term savings in reduced energy consumption and costs as a result of this upgrade. In order to obtain the full incentive, the project must be completed by October 8, 2016. This deadline does not allow for a competitive bid process to take place. Platt Electric has the necessary equipment in stock and staff has verified that Platt's pricing is competitive.
