The City of Yakima was awarded a Stormwater Capacity Grant for $50,000. from the Department of Ecology. The grant funds are provided by Ecology to assist communities with compliance of provisions of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Phase II Permit. The Permit regulates surface water runoff to improve and protect water quality. The funds may be used in the planning, implementation, or management of the City’s Stormwater Program and will include project specific planning and design for a retrofit project that includes low-impact development techniques.
The 2015-2017 Municipal Stormwater Capacity Grant Program Agreement is enclosed. The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute the Grant Agreement and to receive reimbursement for City expenses eligible for reimbursement under the Agreement. |
