ITEM TITLE:

Ordinance updating Classification and Compensation Plan for City Employees Section 2.20.100

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

This Master Pay Ordinance includes classification and compensation changes approved and recommended by the Charter Civil Service Commission, City Management and affected bargaining groups.

 

New Civil Service classifications approved by Charter Civil Service Commission: 

 

  • Community Transportation Coordinator (20110) @ Pay Code 660 Charter, AFSCME Transit
  • Airport Maintenance Lead (8920) @ Pay Code 18.0, Charter, AFSCME
  • New Job Code added for payroll purposes only:  Fire Volunteers-Non Combat (6311) Pay Code 500VF
  • Remove Case Specialist (1434) classification. No longer a current classification.
  • Update Pay Code 977CS due to bargaining agreement with Corrections Sergeants effective 1/1/16-12/31/19

APPROVED FOR SUBMITTAL: Interim City Manager

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by the Charter Civil Service Commission to approve the new classifications.  It is also recommended by City Management that the additional updates be applied to the Master Pay Ordinance.
BOARD/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
Charter Civil Service Commission has approved the two new classifications and recommends the updated Pay Ordinance be approved.
