ITEM TITLE:	Resolution approving three locations for cold weather shelters in the City of Yakima

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

Yakima Neighborhood Health Services is coordinating the 2015-2016 Emergency Cold Weather Shelters for Yakima's homeless to provide food and transportation from November 18, 2015 to March 15, 2016, working with three local churches and volunteers from approximately 4:00 pm to 7:00 am.

This is the ninth year that the City of Yakima is partnering with local churches to have Emergency Cold Weather Shelters. This year Yakima Neighborhood Health is requesting to utilize the Unitarian Universalist Church, Englewood Christian Church and the Central Lutheran Church.

Smoke detectors will be provided at each location of sleeping areas and an operational test of Fire & Life Safety issues will be conducted at each location before occupancy is allowed by the Fire Marshal.
