Continued public hearing to consider citizen comments on the proposed 2016 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Fund Programs

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

Attached for the Council’s consideration, and for public hearing, is the proposed 2016 Annual Action Plan. The Plan describes the various programs for which Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funds will be spent. A draft of the plan and its specific programs is attached.

This is a continuation of the initial public hearing for additional public comments on the proposed 2016 Community Development Block Grant Funds and HOME Funds for the City of Yakima programs. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the City of Yakima participation plan requires at least two Public Hearings allowing citizens to comment on the proposed plan. The City Council opened this public hearing on November 3, 2015 and continued it to November 17, 2015 to comply with the public notice requirements. The final public hearing will be conducted by the City Council on December 1, 2015.

The Draft Annual Action Plan is available on the city’s website or at the City Clerk’s Office.
