The Yakima-Ellensburg Commuter service has been in operation since November 2011. This essential service connects the two communities together with funding being provided by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Central Washington University (CWU), City of Ellensburg, City of Selah, and the City of Yakima (City). Yakima Transit is the grantee responsible for managing the Yakima-Ellensburg Commuter service; while currently operated by Bellair Charters & Airporter.
WSDOT has awarded the City grant funding in the amount of $600,000 to be used towards the Yakima-Ellensburg Commuter for a two-year period (July 1, 2023– June 30, 2025). In order to receive this funding, it is necessary for the City and WSDOT to enter into Grant Agreement PTD0806 which has been attached for City Council review. |
