City of Yakima (City) Project SW2646 installs stormwater infiltration structures in the vicinity of W. Washington Avenue between S. 10th and Cornell Avenues as shown on the attached Project Location Map. Stormwater in the Project area is currently conveyed by a former Drainage Improvement District (DID) #24 pipe, constructed in 1915, that is failing to provide adequate stormwater conveyance. The Project will allow the City to abandon the failing section of DID #24 pipe by installing a subsurface stormwater infiltration system which includes 19 catch basins, 160 feet of storm drain pipe, and 360 feet of infiltration trench.
The City previously entered into an Agreement with HLA Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. under City Contract No. 2020-124 to provide engineering design, bidding, and construction services for the DID #24 Improvements. The City utilized the procedure established by the State of Washington for competitively bidding projects. Six contractors submitted bids, with Ascent Foundations & More, LLC. submitting the lowest bid.
The contract with Ascent Foundations & More, LLC. is for an amount not to exceed $348,313 and is attached for City Council review. The project is funded by the Stormwater Capital Fund 442. |
