| SUMMARY EXPLANATION: | | City Council requested that the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee ordinance be amended to include the ability for the Council to appoint one member who lives in Yakima County, if that person either owned property or a business within the City. In addition, as staff reviewed the ordinance, staff requests that flexibility be provided in meetings, specifically that meetings must be held at least quarterly (this does not mean that meetings cannot be held monthly, but it gives the option to skip a month if there is no quorum), and that the number of staff liaisons be reduced to provide the option of one staff person to be determined at the discretion of the City Manager. This does not preclude other staff members from participating where the City Manager deems it appropriate. To provide for adequate time for preparation, if additional staff are approved for a meeting, an agenda must be provided at least 5 business days prior to the meeting under the proposed code changes. |
