The City of Yakima (City) is regulated by the Department of Ecology for stormwater management in accordance with its issued Eastern Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System General Permit #WAR046013.
The City's Stormwater Division is requesting that Yakima Municipal Code (YMC) 7.82 Construction Stormwater Runoff be amended for the following:
- Amend YMC 7.82.120 to allow City personnel to inspect any site with a high potential for sediment transport prior to cleaning and grading.
- Amend YMC 7.82.130 to require an additional element in Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention plans to protect Low Impact Development Best Management Practices installations.
- Amend YMC 7.82.150 to add the requirement that submitted documents pertaining to construction stormwater runoff shall be reviewed for potential water quality impacts and for compliance with the most current regulatory documents.
Codifying the amendments to Section 7.82.120, Section 7.82.130 and Section 7.82.150 completes an important compliance requirement of the City's permit with the Department of Ecology.
