ITEM TITLE:	Ordinance amending Chapter 7.65, Chapter 11.44, and Chapter 12.03 of the Yakima Municipal Code, relating to building sewers and connections

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

These proposed changes to sewer connection requirements in the Yakima Municipal Code allow for an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) to be connected to the primary dwelling’s side sewer on the lot, instead of requiring a separate and independent building sewer connection for ADUs. The sewer line serving the ADU must be constructed to city standards and video-inspected. There are three different sections in the Yakima Municipal Code that regulate sewer connections and thus all three require amending if this proposed change is accepted.
