ITEM TITLE:Resolution setting date of April 18, 2023 to amend the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program and amend the Capital Facilities Element of the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan for the period of 2023 - 2028

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

On December 6, 2022, the City of Yakima (City) adopted R-2022-166 and R-2022-167 as required by state statute to update its Six-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for submittal to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The City is amending the Six-year TIP to include the following funded additional project:  

 

  • 2024 Northside Alley Paving 

 

The project was not on the Dec 6,2022 TIP update because the City was still seeking funding.  Now that funding has been approved, the project needs to be on the TIP. A Public Hearing will be held to consider including the two additional projects in adoption of an amended Resolution approving the Six-year TIP and amending the regional Metropolitan Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Plan Capital Facilities Element.
