| | | | | | | | Item No. 11.
For Meeting of: February 21, 2023 |
| | | | | | | | ITEM TITLE: | Ordinance amending Chapter 9.56, Wheeled All-Terrain vehicles | SUBMITTED BY: | Brooke Hargreaves, Senior Assistant City Attorney |
SUMMARY EXPLANATION: | The Yakima Police Department has requested amendments to the current Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) ordinance. This proposed ordinance requires a person operating a wheeled all-terrain vehicle to be at least 18 years old and to carry proof of liability insurance. The ordinance also requires that a person operating an ATV comply with any restrictions on their driver’s license; for instance, if a person has an ignition interlock device requirement, that requirement would apply while operating an ATV. |
