ITEM TITLE:

Ordinance updating Classification and Compensation Plan for City Employees Section 2.20.100

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:

This Master Pay Ordinance includes classification and compensation changes approved and recommended by City Management, the City Council (via YPPA contract approval) and the Yakima Police Patrolman’s Association (YPPA).

 

Charter Civil Service:

 

Title change:  1232 City Purchasing Manager to Purchasing Manager

 

Pay range increases have been updated in accordance with Yakima Police Patrolman’s Association (YPPA), January 1, 2020-December 31, 2023, bargaining agreement for Police Officers, Corporals and Sergeants, reflecting 4.5% effective 1/1/2020; 4.5% effective 1/1/2021; 5.5% effective 1/1/2022; 5.5% effective 1/1/2023. - (Please note only final 2023 allocation change is showing on the ordinance)

 

Per YPPA contract, effective 1/1/2023, the top step Sergeant monthly wage has been adjusted to be 16% above the top step Police Officer.
